All my life, I can remember being fascinated with books. Creating fantastical worlds and marvellous stories was something that not only intrigued me, but lit a fire in me that I never knew existed.

It started with a few short stories when I was a child — mostly rewrites of books I'd read that just fed that fire. Then, I took part in as many school projects as I could, getting published in several anthologies throughout my adolescence.

Now that I'm older, I have several unfinished works and the below published works. Every idea I have is jotted down in my notes app on my phone, ready to be developed into a fully-fledged story... eventually!

The Raising

A prophecy about to come true and the girl who has no idea she's about to fulfil it.

Seraphina Williams knew that her future wasn't certain. A pessimist in life, Phina is saying goodbye to college and goodbye to her friends on their way to university. Little did Phina know, her anxiety over whether to go to university or not would be nothing compared to the future she was born for. At her friend's birthday party, Phina is possessed by a demon and a handsome stranger, by the name of Dmitri, saves her life... by almost killing her? Taken to Avalon, Phina discovers magic and supernatural creatures. That handsome stranger? He's a Hunter and Phina soon discovers that she, too, is one of them. In this mysterious and magical world, what could Phina possibly be needed for? Well, the prophecy of course. The prophecy that states that Seraphina herself will and must stop Lucifer. Can she do it? There's only one way to find out.

DAPS Anthology

Head Editor & Author: Megan Ingram-Jones

Daps is a creative writing anthology written, edited and published by students at the University of South Wales. This year's anthology contains a wide range of pieces about lost love, childhood memories and saying goodbye. These pages create a place where you can return to your childhood to build a snømann, go fishing with your father, or stumble down the lonely lane of sentimental rabbits and recount past lovers. The writers in this year's anthology have created a world of nostalgia where you can hum along to the distant music singing 'we're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo, how about you, you, you...'
